HERPES : Our Tests

Concerned You May Have Herpes?

If you think you may have Herpes, it is imperative that you undertake STD testing as soon as possible. It is particularly important to take a Herpes test if you are pregnant or considering having children, as Herpes can be passed onto children through childbirth. Although seldom dangerous to adults it can be potentially fatal to new-borns if not recognized. There are two strains of the Herpes Simplex virus - genital and oral. Whether you have the genital or the oral strain, USALabTesting can offer a quick and easy Herpes test for each condition. Administered through a blood sample taken from the arm, both the Herpes I and Herpes II tests provide the most accurate and discreet results available within 2-3 business days. See the right hand panel for details of all our tests.

As the Herpes Simplex virus exists in two forms, both of which carry some of the same symptoms, it is difficult to know which strain of the virus you have contracted without taking an STD test. If you need to find out whether you have contracted Herpes Simplex I or Herpes Simplex II, USALabTesting offers a Herpes I and Herpes II Combo Test for only $150 (at a saving of $30!).

Not Sure Which STD Test is Best for You?

With many STDs having similar symptoms, or in fact no symptoms at all, it can be difficult to know which STD test is the right one for you. Why not take our Full STD Panel, which includes the Herpes I and Herpes II Combo Test as well as tests for Hepatitis, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and HIV. With our Full STD Panel, get all eight STD tests for just $245 (a saving of $475) and get complete peace of mind.

Herpes Test

The Herpes test is undertaken to recognize an infection of the Herpes Simplex virus or to detect Herpes antibodies which indicates the body has previously been exposed to Herpes. The Herpes Simplex virus exists in two forms - Herpes Simplex Type 1 and Herpes Simplex Type 2. They are united by being contagious and causing small blisters that break to create open lesions. Herpes Simplex Type 1 mainly causes Herpes symptoms around the mouth (this type of Herpes is more commonly known as 'cold sores') while Herpes Simplex Type 2 usually creates lesions around the genitals, although either strain can affect either area of the body.
