Chlamydia Testing

Our clinics all offer the urine test as it is the quickest and most painless Chlamydia test. The Chlamydia testing procedure detects for the presence of the bacteria which causes the STD via a urine sample using the nucleic acid amplification technology. This STD testing process is entirely painless, and because it does not require a urethral or vaginal swab, you can collect the sample at the lab or in the privacy of your home.

As the Chlamydia test is urine based, clients should not urinate for at least two hours before collecting a sample. It is vital that you ensure a first catch urine, approximately 20-30ml, from the stream into the sterile collection cup. A volume larger than this may cause dilution of the specimen, making it harder for us to complete accurate Chlamydia testing. Clients should not clean the genital area before producing their sample for STD testing.

The average incubation time for the Chlamydia bacteria ranges from a few days to a few weeks, though we can generally pass on the result to you within 1-3 business days.
